International education-preneur, Sarifa Younes has won first place at the recent 2018 AusMumpreneur Awards in the Multicultural category. The awards were held at White Night Receptions, Melbourne, where over 450 talented mums in business from all over the country gathered to support and encourage other Australian mumpreneurs.
Sarifa is the co-founder and director of Arndell Park Early Childhood Learning centre, a psychologist and early childhood learning expert with 15 years experience in the industry. She is also the co-founder of the Training College of Australia and founder/director of the International Academy of Marawi, and an inspirational keynote speaker internationally. And, she is about to release her book ‘Love Your Obstacles’ through LaMinliko Publishing International.
Her ongoing work remains an important part of Australia’s future, with her training going hand-in-hand with the education of our future teachers.
When asked about her category win at the 2018 AusMumpreneur Award, Sarifa said she was excited to win against such a talented group of women.
“The award means a lot to me because it gives significance to the work that has gone into everything I have achieved. Being recognised in this way makes me feel proud of myself, but I’m also hoping it can help to inspire more women.”
Coming from a migrant background and entering into a male-dominated industry, her success is further credit to her hard-working mentality and commitment to succeed.
“While it was amazing to meet other inspirational women in this category, I can’t help but feel that everyone would have been a worthy winner. But more than that, I want to motivate women in less fortunate circumstances to embrace their obstacles and to create better futures for themselves and their families”, she said.
AusMumpreneur was created to support Australian entrepreneurs like Sarifa and her fellow AusMumpreneur Award winners. Peace Mitchell, co-founder of AusMumpreneur said.
“These awards are all about recognising the growing number of mums who are achieving outstanding business success while balancing motherhood.”
“I was blown away by the entrepreneurial spirit, resilience and professionalism of the award winners and I know that they will provide great inspiration for other mums considering starting their own business,” Peace said.
“We are delighted that Sarifa has won this award, she has created an outstanding business and is an inspirational role model and ambassador for mums in business everywhere. We wish her and all our amazing Ausmumpreneur Award winners every success in the coming year,” AusMumpreneur co-founder Peace Mitchell said.
Sarifa’s strong background in psychology and childhood learning are key aspects of her makeup and drive her future direction as a teaching advocate.
This is the ninth year the AusMumpreneur Awards have run, with the business mum community growing at lightning speed as mothers look for opportunities to join the ranks of small business owners in search of more flexibility, financial freedom and family time.
“The number of women starting businesses has continued to grow in the last 12 months! Of the 668,670 women operating a small business in Australia currently, almost half are mums with children at home. I am thrilled to be one of the award winners across this amazing community of mumpreneurs and proud to be showcased with my business”, said award-winner Sarifa Younes.
